Here is a definition of “Tenacity”: Extremely persistent in adhering to or doing something; stubborn or relentless. If you were to “self-score” your own “tenacity level”, what would that be?
I suppose the concept of self-tenacity needs to be broken down to different aspects of our lives. For example, some people can be very tenacious when it comes to certain parts of their lives such as parenting and job performance whereas perhaps they are not as tenacious at things such as yard work and other household chores.
You knew this was coming so here it comes: To the weight control arena…We all must exhibit LOTS of tenaciousness when it comes to a long term, successful weight control journey. There will be MANY “bumps along the way”, referring to the weeks when weight loss will be virtually impossible: Vacations, holidays, birthday celebrations, work travel etc. We must NOT allow these types of days/weeks to dissuade us from continuing in our efforts to become healthier and happier via successful weight control.
Bring the same level of tenaciousness to your weight control efforts that you bring to other aspects of your life that you are passionate about. Keep that “Tenacity Score” high in the weight control arena and lots of good stuff awaits you.
